He appreciated the initiatives taken by the Rural Development Department under the “Gramothan Project” to strengthen rural development.
Addressing the SHG members and rural entrepreneurs present at the fair, the CM said that the fair is a unique platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage, skills, and entrepreneurship of Uttarakhand’s rural areas. These livelihood fairs not only provide exposure for local products but also advance the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Vocal for Local” promoted by the Prime Minister.
The CM urged people to adopt indigenous products, invest in rural artisans, and empower women. He highlighted that purchasing local products is not just buying goods but investing in the dreams of rural artisans, women, and entrepreneurs.
Under various government schemes, the CM noted significant achievements in women’s empowerment:
- Lakhpati Didi Yojana: Over 1.65 lakh women have become lakhpatis.
- Mukhyamantri Sashakt Bahna Utsav Yojana: Women entrepreneurs have generated ₹5.5 crore through marketing 2,000 stalls.
