Anta Assembly By-Election 2025 – Voting on November 11, Last Date for Nominations October 21
Jaipur, Oct 2025 : Voting for the Anta Assembly By-Election 2025 will take place on November 11, while the last date for filing nominations is October 21. According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India on Monday, the counting of votes will be held on November 14, 2025.
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Naveen Mahajan held a meeting with representatives of various recognized political parties of the state at the Secretariat on Tuesday. During the meeting, he briefed them about the Anta Assembly By-Election 2025 schedule and the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The Election Department urged all parties to cooperate in ensuring free, fair, and peaceful elections and in the strict observance of the Model Code of Conduct.
Mahajan informed that with the announcement of the Anta by-election, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the concerned revenue district. He said that the notification for the by-election will be issued on October 13, 2025, marking the beginning of the nomination filing process. The last date for submitting nomination papers will be October 21, 2025, the scrutiny of nominations will be conducted on October 23, and withdrawal of nominations will be allowed till October 27, 2025.
The Chief Electoral Officer stated that as per the Election Commission’s guidelines, all candidates and political parties participating in the election are required to publish details of the candidate’s criminal background at least three times on their websites, TV channels, and in national and local newspapers. He further directed that polling agents must be present at least 90 minutes before the start of voting on polling day to participate in the mock poll of the EVM machines.
Mahajan informed that as of October 1, 2025, the Anta Assembly Constituency has a total of 2,27,563 registered voters, including 1,16,405 male voters, 1,11,154 female voters, and 4 others. These voters will be able to cast their votes at 268 polling stations established across the constituency.
He added that media cells and district-level committees have been constituted in all relevant districts to certify political advertisements before their publication or broadcast. He emphasized the need to raise voter awareness, educate new voters about the voting process and EVM use, and encourage greater participation of citizens in the by-election.
During a press conference with media personnel, the Chief Electoral Officer also introduced the C-Vigil mobile app, which allows citizens to report violations of the Model Code of Conduct in real time. He elaborated on the home voting facility for voters who are over 85 years of age or have more than 40% disability, as well as other innovations introduced by the Election Commission to enhance accessibility and transparency.
Mahajan also discussed the important role of the media in voter awareness and monitoring of MCC violations, urging journalists to actively participate in these initiatives and help ensure elections that are impartial, fear-free, and free from the influence of money power.
