Kejriwal and Mann Create History by Laying Foundation for 3,100 Sports Stadiums — For the First Time, Grand Stadiums to Be Built in Every Village

Chandigarh, Oct, 2025 : Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann created a new history in Punjab by laying the foundation stone of 3,100 sports stadiums from Bathinda, at a cost of ₹1,194 crore.

Today’s day on the land of Punjab became historic not only for Punjab but for the entire country.
In 75 years of independence, no government had paid such attention to villages. Until now, big stadiums were only built in major cities, but for the first time, a government has started the initiative to build modern sports stadiums in villages for rural youth.

The Mann government is constructing modern and grand stadiums in 3,100 villages. These stadiums will have tracks for volleyball, football, hockey, and athletics. Each village will also have a separate ground for local games. The government will also provide sports equipment.
The responsibility for maintenance and upkeep of the stadiums has been given to village youth clubs, so that these fields do not deteriorate and every child in the village can benefit from these facilities.

A fierce battle against drugs has been going on in Punjab for months. The old governments had brought drugs to every home, hollowing out the youth of Punjab. But in the last few months, the way bulldozers have been run on drug traffickers, the number of seizures and arrests made — such an operation has not taken place anywhere else in the country. Big drug lords are in jail, properties worth crores are being seized. Those who once thought themselves invincible are now rotting in prisons.
And as soon as one big trafficker was sent to jail, all the old parties united — making it clear that they were all involved in the drug trade. But Bhagwant Mann’s government has made it clear — drug dealers will not be spared in Punjab.

Alongside this war against drugs, a new foundation for the children’s future is being laid. Those children who are giving up drugs will now find the path to health and sports through these stadiums.
Mann said that the captains of four national teams of India are Punjabis. In the coming time, more captains and champions will emerge from these very villages. Sports will now become the new identity of villages.

For the youth of Punjab, the Mann government has provided 55,000 government jobs — without recommendation, without money — purely on merit. During the rule of the Akali Dal, Congress, and BJP, getting a job without money was impossible. Today, the government has changed the system. Along with this, possibilities for over four lakh private jobs have also opened up because industries are investing in Punjab.
The next big step is to teach entrepreneurship in colleges. From Mohali, Kejriwal and the Mann government will announce that every college will teach students to do business along with studies. The student who graduates will not be a job seeker, but a job giver. Punjab is moving on the path to become the entrepreneurship capital of the entire nation.

The Mann government is building sports stadiums in villages, keeping youth away from drugs, and providing opportunities for employment and business. Opposition parties hollowed out Punjab and pushed its youth into drugs, but now the situation is changing. Stadiums are being built in every village, youth are returning to the fields, drug traffickers are in jail, and Punjab is once again moving towards becoming Rangla Punjab (Vibrant Punjab).

The soil of Punjab has that strength which has given the nation captains, players, and martyrs. Now this very Punjab will raise the flag high in Olympics and World Championships. Today marks the beginning of this new story.
