‘Cooperative Membership Campaign’ Empowers Women Towards Self-Reliance and Confidence

Jaipur, Oct 2025 — The ongoing ‘Cooperative Membership Campaign’ (Sahkar Sadasyata Abhiyan), being organized by the State Government from October 2 to 15, has emerged as a significant step towards women’s empowerment and self-reliance. Rural women across the state are showing great enthusiasm in joining cooperative societies to become self-dependent and contribute to the progress of their families and communities.

Special efforts are being made under the campaign to connect more youth and women with cooperative societies. Exclusive camps are being organized for women to inform them about the benefits of joining cooperatives and to facilitate membership applications. As part of the process of forming new Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in Gram Panchayats without one, special women-led PACS are also being established. By becoming active members of cooperatives, women are gaining confidence and developing decision-making abilities, thereby playing a more active role in both family and society. Success stories emerging from various regions of the state reflect the growing empowerment of women.

Kota: A Step Towards Self-Reliance
At the Deoli Gram Seva Cooperative Society in Kota district, a special membership camp became a platform for women’s empowerment. More than 100 women participated and learned about the schemes offered by the Cooperative Department and Cooperative Bank. The participants expressed enthusiasm, leading to 32 women enrolling as new cooperative members on the spot.
Previously, women associated with Rajivika received interest-free loans under the Rajasthan Cooperative Gopal Credit Card Scheme and the Rural Livelihood Loan Scheme. Inspired by these initiatives, more women are now eager to join cooperatives, seeing them as a path to empowerment and self-sufficiency.

Udaipur: Contributing to Family and Community Progress
In Udaipur, the Central Cooperative Bank organized a one-day membership camp in Bhim Gram Panchayat in collaboration with Mahashakti Rajivika Mahila CLG. Around 150 women attended the camp, where 41 applied for cooperative membership. They thanked the state government and the Cooperative Department for organizing such initiatives and expressed optimism about joining cooperatives to strengthen their financial independence and contribute to their family’s and society’s progress.

Dungarpur: Skill Development Opens Doors to Progress
The Dungarpur Central Cooperative Bank held a special training camp aimed at enhancing women’s skills and employability. The camp focused on teaching new skills, refining existing ones, and providing awareness about financial assistance and entrepreneurship opportunities. Participants received training in tailoring, embroidery, knitting, and beauty services, empowering them to start their own businesses. NABARD officials informed the participants about NABARD-sponsored schemes, while Cooperative Department officers encouraged women to join cooperatives and avail themselves of related benefits.

Through this campaign, women across Rajasthan are taking confident steps toward empowerment, economic independence, and leadership within their communities.
