I&PR Minister Urges Departments to Strengthen Public Relations
Aizawl, Oct 2025: This week, I&PR Minister B. Lalchhanzova met with the Administrative Officers of the Information, Public Relations, Printing & Stationery (IPRP&S) Department and senior officers of the directorate. During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the need for the government to strengthen Information and Public Relations (I&PR) activities and ensure effective communication of government initiatives.
Minister Lalchhanzova instructed the departmental officials to proactively engage in public relations, ensuring that the public is well-informed about government programs and achievements. He highlighted that officials should maintain close oversight of the department’s activities, allowing them to address issues promptly and enhance efficiency.
The Minister also stressed the importance of sharing notifications, schemes, policies, and government achievements with the public through the I&PR Department. He noted that all ten departments should leverage I&PR channels to build stronger public relations and keep citizens aware of governmental functions. Additionally, he emphasized the use of Printing & Stationery services by government departments for smooth operations.
During the meeting, Secretary Pi Betsy Zothanpari Sailo outlined the department’s responsibilities and functions. This was followed by reports from Director K. Vanlalsangi (I&PR) and Controller Benjamin Lalzama (Printing & Stationery), who provided updates on departmental activities.
The meeting underlined the government’s commitment to enhancing transparency, communication, and public engagement through effective use of I&PR and allied services.
