Development Works in the District Will Not Be Allowed to Suffer from Lack of Funds – DCM Fadnavis

Nagpur : As Guardian Minister, I have always advocated strongly for the funds required for development work in the district. We have already provided substantial funding for the District General Scheme, Scheduled Caste Sub Scheme, and Tribal Component Programme. Effective coordination and strict planning are essential for the proper utilization of these funds, ensuring good work is done in all constituencies of the district. This was the direction given by Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of the district, Devendra Fadnavis, during the District Planning Committee meeting held in the newly inaugurated District Planning Hall, enhancing the administrative buildings of Nagpur district.

Inauguration and Attendees

During the inauguration ceremony, several dignitaries were present, including MP Shyam Kumar Barve, Member of Legislative Council members Chandrasekhar Bawankule, Pravin Datke, Abhijit Vanjari, Sudhakar Adbale, Parinay Phuke, Kripal Tumane, and MLAs Anil Deshmukh, Dr. Nitin Raut, Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Mohan Mate, Sameer Meghe, Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, and Tekchand Savarkar. Also present were Zilla Parishad President Mukta Kokde, Police Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singal, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Chaudhary, Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Soumya Sharma, along with other invited and nominated members and heads of concerned executive departments.

Fund Utilization and Approvals

The district administration has effectively utilized the available funds for various development works within the given timeframe. Chairman of the Committee and Guardian Minister Devendra Fadnavis approved an expenditure of ₹1,036.38 crores for the 2023-24 General Plan, Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan, and Tribal Component Program. This includes ₹800 crores for the General Scheme, ₹183 crores for the Scheduled Caste Implementation Scheme, and ₹53 crores for the Tribal Component Program, achieving an expenditure ratio of 99.97%. For 2024-25, approximately ₹1,219 crores have been allocated in the budget for the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan and Tribal Component Program Scheme. By the end of July 2024, ₹405.65 crores have been received through the budgetary distribution system, with ₹48.71 crores distributed to the action mechanisms and ₹23.71 crores spent. The sanctioned expenditure for 2024-25 includes ₹944 crores for the General Plan, ₹195 crores for Scheduled Castes Implementation, and ₹80 crores for the Tribal Component Program, totaling ₹1,200 crores for the district’s annual plan.

Proposals and Approvals

Proposals were submitted to declare several religious sites as Class C status under the General District Annual Plan 2024-25. These sites include Renuka Mata Mandir Devasthan at Mohgaon Zilpi in Hingana Taluka, Rameshwar Mandir at Mauja Neri Mankar, Nagnath Swami Math Devas

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Inaugurates District Planning Building

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the District Planning Building, enhancing the administrative infrastructure of Nagpur. Distinguished public representatives of the district attended the ceremony. A meeting of the District Planning Committee was held today in the building’s auditorium. The office of the District Planning Officer, Nagpur, is located on the first floor. The auditorium seats 28 dignitaries on the dais and has 294 chairs for officials, representatives, and other dignitaries. The conference hall on the second floor can accommodate 28 people for meetings. Separate halls for the Guardian Minister, District Collector, and District Planning Officer are also provided. Additionally, there is a waiting room on the ground floor and a library on the second floor.

Distribution of Various Benefits to Third Parties in the District Planning Committee Meeting

In the District Planning Committee meeting, emphasis was placed on implementing new schemes with the Department of Social Justice. Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar assured the direct beneficiaries, particularly third parties, by distributing benefits at the hands of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Certificates approving the establishment of Shiv Bhojan Thali Centers, mainly for third parties, were distributed. The Kinnar Vikas Multipurpose Social Organization is starting a new dimension of social justice in Nagpur. Under the Chief Minister’s Youth Work Training Scheme, two kinnars will be admitted as trainees and given the opportunity to gain experience in the Collectorate’s office. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also distributed these certificates.

Distribution of Benefits and Inaugurations

On this occasion, benefits under various schemes were distributed, including:

  • Horticulture and dryland farming under the Karmaveer Dadasaheb Gaikwad Empowerment and Swabhiman Yojana
  • 15 percent margin money benefit to eligible beneficiaries from Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhist communities under the Standup India Scheme
  • Appointment of third parties as trainees under the Chief Minister Youth Work Training Scheme
  • Distribution of Shiv Bhojan Thali Center benefits to third parties

Additionally, the inauguration of 14 Taluka Worker Facilitation Centers and the flagging off of taluka-level firefighting vehicles took place. Assistant Commissioner of Social Justice Department Sukeshini Telgote, Assistant Commissioner of Skill Development Department Sunanda Bajaj, and senior officials were present.

Distribution of Laptops to Tribal Students by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Students Khushi Ramesh Gadive and Kalyan Baldev Kotwar from the ashram school in Jamakudo, Gondia district, who were admitted to National Law School, were given laptops by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, as required by the law school. Additional Commissioner of Tribal Development Department Ravindra Thackeray was present on this occasion.

Unveiling of Hridayasth Nagpur Coffee Table Book

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unveiled a coffee table book titled “Hridayasth Nagpur,” highlighting various places in Nagpur district. District Information Officer Vinod Rapatwar was present. The book provides information about various tourist and historical places in the district, realized from the concept of Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar.
