Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Inspects Development Works in Baramati

Baramati : Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar directed the administration to address traffic congestion in the three Hatti Chowk areas of the city. He also urged citizens to follow traffic rules and cooperate with the administration.

Mr. Pawar inspected several ongoing public development projects, including those in the Kanheri Forest Division, the Biroba Mandir area, the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University Library Building, the Upazila Jail Building, and the Shrimant Babuji Naik Wada area in Baramati. Attendees included Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Jadhav, Conservator of Forests Mahadev Mohite, Chief Engineer of Mahavidran Ankush Nale, and Superintending Engineer of the Public Works Department Bappa Bahir.

Mr. Pawar recommended installing directional boards and appointing police personnel at the three Hatti Chowks to alleviate traffic issues. He also advised that obstacles to traffic be removed immediately and ensured that no encroachments occur in the area.

He emphasized that ongoing public development works should be completed efficiently and with high quality. He stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and preventing encroachments in previously completed government buildings.

In the Kanheri Forest Division, Mr. Pawar suggested planting climatically suitable and shade-giving trees, ensuring their survival. He also recommended maintaining clean water and surroundings around the lake, and installing convenient stairs and seating for children and senior citizens.

For the Biroba Temple in Katewadi, he proposed building seating arrangements on all three sides of the temple, providing steps for elderly citizens and children, installing millet tile floors, constructing a two lakh-liter water tank, and creating toilets and a parking lot to accommodate visitors during the yatra. Proper drainage should also be planned.

At the Babuji Naik Wada precinct, Mr. Pawar advised blending modern and traditional elements while preserving the palace’s original form. The restoration should evoke a pre-independence era feel, with clean sunlight and proper lighting. Walls and floors should be free of cracks, and more trees should be planted in the area.

A 10-foot-high protective wall should be built around the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University Library. The Upazila Jail building’s height should be elevated by three feet above the surrounding road to prevent future construction from affecting it. Modern, high-quality materials should be used for these public works. Deputy Chief Minister Pawar assured that funding for these development projects will be provided as needed.

During his visit, Mr. Pawar also inaugurated four high-pressure water mist firefighting two-wheelers for the city council’s fire brigade, which were received from the Relief and Rehabilitation Department.
