Chirag Paswan Advocates “MY” Equation for Women and Youth Empowerment, Criticizes Grand Alliance Ahead of Bihar Polls
Khagaria, Oct 2025 : Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan emphasized the NDA’s commitment to transcending caste, creed, and religion while ensuring employment and opportunities for the youth of Bihar, addressing a public rally in Khagaria ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Paswan also accused the Grand Alliance, led by the RJD and Congress, of attempting to divide the people of Bihar along communal and caste lines in the run-up to the November 6 and 11 elections.
At the rally, Paswan introduced his vision of the “MY” equation, explaining that his focus is on the empowerment of women and youth, rather than divisions based on caste or religion. He said that under this approach, “M” represents women, symbolizing respect, empowerment, and inclusion, while “Y” stands for youth, highlighting the importance of education, skill development, and employment for young Biharis. The LJP chief underscored that this vision is central to the NDA’s broader goal of a progressive, developed Bihar.
Paswan invoked the legacy of his father, Ram Vilas Paswan, referring to himself as “the son of a lion” and emphasizing his roots in Khagaria. He reiterated the NDA’s commitment to ensuring dignity and respect for all women, rights for the elderly, and fair treatment for farmers and laborers. Paswan highlighted the numerous attempts made to undermine his political journey but stressed that his determination remains unshaken. He emphasized that the NDA alliance is progressing with a vision focused on inclusive growth and equitable development.
Earlier on October 19, Chirag Paswan had formally redefined the “MY” equation, reiterating that women and youth will be at the core of the party’s agenda. In an exclusive interview with ANI, he elaborated that Bihar’s development depends heavily on empowering women, encouraging their participation in decision-making, and tapping into the potential of the state’s young population. Paswan stressed the need for providing education, skills, and employment opportunities to youth to accelerate Bihar’s overall growth trajectory.
The LJP (Ram Vilas) chief criticized rival young leaders for framing youth engagement through caste and religious lenses, asserting that his approach is inclusive, merit-based, and development-oriented. He reiterated that the NDA’s focus is on holistic development rather than political divisions, under the guiding principle of “Bihar First, Bihari First.”
The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections will witness a major contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Grand Alliance (RJD-led). The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), LJP (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha, while the Grand Alliance includes the RJD, Congress, CPI-ML, CPI, CPM, and Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party has staked claim to all 243 seats in the state. Election results are scheduled to be declared on November 14, 2025.
Paswan’s message in Khagaria reinforced the NDA’s commitment to a caste- and religion-neutral political agenda, with a clear focus on empowering women and youth, providing employment, and driving Bihar toward comprehensive socio-economic development.
