New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today laid the foundation stone for a clean drinking water project at the Chhawla BSF Camp in South-West Delhi, ending a decades-old problem faced by soldiers posted there. The new pipeline will not only provide safe water to the BSF camp but also benefit nearby villages.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also celebrated the festival of Bhai Dooj with BSF personnel, saying that the brave soldiers protecting the nation’s borders are “the shield of our country”, and that ensuring their welfare is the government’s duty. Responding to the soldiers’ request, she also assured them that a synthetic track would soon be constructed within the camp premises. The water pipeline will be laid from Chhawla BSF Camp to the phirni road of Chhawla village. Connected to the Dwarka Water Treatment Plant, this new pipeline will ensure a clean and reliable water supply not only for the BSF camp but also for the nearby local residents. The event was attended by local MLA Sandeep Sahrawat, public representatives, senior BSF officials, and a large number of residents from the area.
