Agriculture Minister Pu P.C. Vanlalruata Attends as Chief Guest

Aizawl, Oct 2025: The “Khuado Pawi 2025” festival was celebrated today at the Bawngkawn South YMA Hall, organized jointly by the Zomi Cultural Society (ZCS) General Headquarters, Mizoram, and the Zomi Cultural Society Aizawl Joint Committee. The event was graced by Agriculture Minister Pu P.C. Vanlalruata, who attended as the chief guest.

In his address, Minister Vanlalruata extended warm greetings to all those celebrating Khuado Kut, acknowledging its deep cultural and social significance. He said that Mizoram, being the “Jerusalem of the Zo people,” brings together communities from the south, north, Hmar, and Thlang regions. This unity, he emphasized, is a blessing for Mizoram’s progress and harmony. The Minister urged all Zo people to continue working together for prosperity and expressed the state government’s commitment to support the growth and development of the Zo ethnic community.

He further encouraged the preservation and promotion of Zo language, culture, and traditional festivals, stating that these elements strengthen community identity and pride. “Let us protect and nurture our diverse dialects, traditions, and customs with sincerity and unity,” he added.

During the event, Pu T. Thang, the Functional President of ZCS General Headquarters, highlighted the importance of collaboration between NGOs and organizations like the YMA in promoting welfare activities and cultural harmony. He appealed to the community to remain free from divisive actions and work collectively for peace and progress.

As part of the celebration, fourteen distinguished members received certificates of recognition for their achievements. Additionally, one retired member and one newly appointed professor were specially honored.

The event also featured traditional songs and cultural performances by various artists, showcasing the rich heritage of the Zo community and marking a joyous conclusion to the Khuado Pawi 2025 festivities.
