Minister Laxmi Rajwade Offers Evening Arghya to the Sun God, Prays for the Prosperity of the State
Raipur, Oct 2025 : On the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja, Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, offered evening Arghya (obeisance) to the Sun God with devotion and reverence at the Chhath Ghat near the Shiv Temple and Hanuman Temple in Bhatgaon, Surajpur district. Performing the rituals in the traditional manner, she prayed to Chhathi Maiya for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the people of Chhattisgarh.

At the ghat, the Minister warmly interacted with the devotees observing the fast and presented them with coconuts and fruits as offerings, seeking the blessings of Chhathi Maiya. She described Chhath Puja as a remarkable festival of Indian culture, symbolizing faith, environmental harmony, and family unity.
Smt. Rajwade said that the land of Chhattisgarh is known for its unity in diversity and rich folk traditions. Every festival here is celebrated as a reflection of social harmony and the strength of women. She added that the devotion and discipline shown by women during Chhath Puja serve as a message of faith, dedication, and environmental preservation for society.
On this occasion, several public representatives, local residents, members of women’s groups, and a large number of devotees were present. The atmosphere reverberated with chants of “Chhathi Maiya ki Jai.”
