Chief Minister Launches Public Awareness Campaign on Theme “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility”
Dehradun, Oct 2025: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday inaugurated a public awareness campaign based on the theme “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility” at the Secretariat. The campaign will run across the state till State Foundation Day on November 9, 2025.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister administered the integrity pledge to officers and staff. Remembering the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who dedicated his life to the unity, integrity, and strength of the nation, the Chief Minister said that this awareness campaign is being organized to commemorate his birth anniversary.
He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only pledged to create a corruption-free India but has also implemented it effectively at the ground level. Under his leadership, a new work culture has emerged, making governance transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric.
The Chief Minister stated that under the Prime Minister’s guidance, the state government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. Since the formation of the state, the Vigilance Department has arrested 339 corrupt officials and employees red-handed. In the last three years alone, 78 corrupt individuals and over 27 others involved in various cases have been arrested and sent to jail.
To ensure transparency and accountability in governance, a toll-free number (1064) has been set up to report corruption. In the past three years, nearly 10,000 complaints have been received through this number, leading to 62 trap cases and 4 open investigations.
The Chief Minister reiterated that corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and anyone found guilty will face strict action and imprisonment. He directed all departments to promote this campaign widely across the state.
Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan said that for the strength of society and administration, every employee must be honest, disciplined, and committed to their duties. Discipline in work automatically eliminates corruption. He added that under the Chief Minister’s guidance, commendable efforts have been made over the past four years to root out corruption.
The event was attended by DGP Deepam Seth, Principal Secretary L. Fanai, Vigilance Director V. Murugesan, secretaries, and senior police officers.
