Chairman of Hemkund Sahib Management Trust Calls on Chief Minister
Dehradun, Oct 2025: The Chairman of Gurudwara Sri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust, Mr. Narinder Jeet Singh Bindra, met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Secretariat on Monday. During the meeting, Mr. Bindra expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister, the state government, and the local administration for their support and cooperation in ensuring smooth arrangements for the Hemkund Sahib Yatra.
He said that due to the Chief Minister’s continuous guidance and timely directives, the pilgrimage was conducted successfully and efficiently this year. A record 2,75,000 devotees from India and abroad participated in the sacred yatra. Despite adverse weather conditions, the management of the pilgrimage was handled effectively, ensuring safety, comfort, and coordination for the pilgrims, which received widespread appreciation from devotees.
Mr. Bindra also discussed with the Chief Minister several important improvements in infrastructure and logistics for future yatras.
Chief Minister Dhami assured that all necessary steps would be taken on priority before the commencement of the next pilgrimage season. He said that along with the Char Dham Yatra, the Hemkund Sahib Yatra also holds immense spiritual and cultural significance. Situated high in the Himalayas, Hemkund Sahib is a symbol of the state’s divine identity.
He added that the state government has prepared an effective action plan for the development of pilgrimage sites and for enhancing facilities for devotees. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the construction of a ropeway from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib will make travel in the Himalayan region much easier.
It is noteworthy that just two months before the yatra began, a crucial bridge connecting Govindghat to the Hemkund route was completely destroyed due to a massive landslide. However, under the Chief Minister’s direct intervention and leadership, a new bridge was constructed ahead of schedule, averting a major crisis and ensuring uninterrupted movement of pilgrims.
Mr. Bindra also thanked the Chief Minister for issuing directions to grandly commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in the state and for spreading awareness among citizens about the Guru’s supreme sacrifice for faith and humanity.
Expressing confidence, Mr. Bindra said that under the continued guidance of Chief Minister Dhami, the Hemkund Sahib Yatra would further evolve as a symbol of faith, unity, and efficient pilgrimage management.
