PM Modi’s Welfare Schemes Strengthening Women’s Safety and Economic Empowerment: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, May 2026 : Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched several welfare initiatives aimed at ensuring the safety, dignity, and empowerment of women across the country.

Addressing the Gram Vikas Chaupal programme at Jajod village in Khandela block of Sikar district, the Chief Minister highlighted various Central and state government schemes focused on improving the lives of women, especially in rural areas.

He said initiatives such as household toilet construction, the Ujjwala Yojana for LPG connections, tap water supply to every household, and Jan Dhan bank accounts have significantly enhanced women’s dignity and quality of life.

Bhajanlal Sharma stressed that economic empowerment of women is essential for strengthening both the state and the nation. He noted that the Prime Minister had taken a historic step through the Nari Shakti Vandan Act to increase women’s representation in the Lok Sabha and state Assemblies.

The Chief Minister also highlighted several Rajasthan government initiatives for women and girls, including the Lado Protsahan Yojana, Maa Voucher Scheme, and Mukhyamantri Dugdh Utpadak Sambal Yojana. He added that milk is being provided in Anganwadi centres to improve child nutrition and that old-age pensions have also been increased.

He said women associated with Rajivika self-help groups are becoming financially independent, particularly in rural regions. According to him, women working as Bank Sakhis, Krishi Sakhis, and Pashu Sakhis are bringing positive social and economic changes to villages.

Referring to the Lakhpati Didi scheme, the Chief Minister announced that the state government has increased the loan limit to Rs 1.5 lakh while reducing the interest rate to 1.5 per cent to encourage women entrepreneurs.

He urged women to join Rajivika groups, actively participate in income-generating activities, and take advantage of government welfare schemes. Villagers also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the Yamuna water agreement during the programme.

During the event, Bhajanlal Sharma inspected Gram Rath displays and cultural troupes at the venue. Earlier, he also offered prayers at the Saraswati Temple.

The programme was attended by Minister of State for Forest and Environment Sanjay Sharma, MLA Subhash Meel, Gordhan Verma, local public representatives, officials, and a large number of villagers.

The Chief Minister also interacted with women associated with Rajivika self-help groups, who shared inspiring stories of financial and social transformation.

Bank Sakhi Poonam Sharma said she helped over 50 women obtain insurance and assisted more than 60 women in securing loans, improving their economic conditions. She added that she now earns around Rs 1.5 lakh annually and is popularly known in her area as the “Bank Wali Didi.”

Data Sakhi Guman Kanwar said her annual income crossed Rs 1 lakh after joining a self-help group, helping her meet household financial needs while also spreading awareness about government schemes among rural women.

Anita Devi, who manages a canteen under the Khandela Panchayat Samiti, said she became a “Lakhpati Didi” through self-help groups and currently earns nearly Rs 1 lakh annually through her business activities.
