Vijay Calls TVK General Council Meet on November 5 to Chart Party’s Future Course

Chennai, Oct 2025 : Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder and actor-politician Vijay has announced that a special meeting of the party’s General Council will be held on November 5 in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, to deliberate on the organisation’s future direction and key internal matters.

In a heartfelt statement addressed to party cadres, Vijay described the upcoming meeting as a new chapter in TVK’s political journey following a period of “meaningful silence.”

“My greetings to the comrades who live in my heart. After a purposeful pause in our political journey, I write to you once again to speak and to invite you,” the actor-turned-politician said.

Vijay asserted that the party had successfully endured attempts by detractors to discredit or weaken it. “Though conspirators and schemers tried to belittle us and hurled accusations, we have fearlessly overcome them all,” he declared.

Emphasising that TVK’s strength lies in its grassroots cadres, Vijay described them as the “real weapons” of the movement and reaffirmed that no external force could sever the connection between the party and the people of Tamil Nadu.

“No one can break the bond between the people and us, nor halt our continuous journey of victory,” he wrote, adding that the public had quietly observed the party’s steadfastness over recent weeks. “Even our adversaries who dream of defeating us through deceit and strategy know this truth,” he added.

Vijay hinted that the party would soon unveil new political strategies after assessing the ground situation carefully. “Only when the circumstances at the grassroots level encourage us should we move forward — calmly, thoughtfully, and decisively,” he said.

Announcing the General Council session, Vijay stated, “In this situation, the next steps and activities of the party must be discussed in depth. Therefore, a special session of the General Council — the heart of our organisation — will be convened at 10 a.m. on November 5 in Mamallapuram. Let us meet, plan firmly, and show that the future belongs to us. True success comes only when good things happen.”

The meeting is expected to set the tone for TVK’s upcoming political strategy as the party gears up for its next phase of organisational and electoral activities.
