Khelo India University Games to Begin in Rajasthan from November 24; CM Reviews Preparations

Jaipur, Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that for the first time, Rajasthan will host the Khelo India University Games, beginning November 24, featuring around 24 sporting events with participation from universities across the country. He emphasized that wide publicity should be given to the games to connect the youth of the state and ensure that more people are informed about the events and the participating athletes.

The Chief Minister was reviewing preparations for both the Khelo India University Games and the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Chief Minister’s Office on Wednesday. He directed that adequate security arrangements, smooth traffic management, and proper facilities at all venues and accommodations in every divisional headquarters be ensured.

Cleanliness, Beautification, and Medical Facilities at Venues

CM Sharma also reviewed arrangements for live telecast of the games. He instructed the Urban Development Department to ensure cleanliness and beautification of stadiums, accommodations, and host cities. He also directed the Health Department to deploy medical teams at all event and accommodation sites.

Ensure Participation of Public Representatives

The Chief Minister said that public representatives must be actively involved in the games. He also directed that national and international sportspersons from Rajasthan be invited as special guests. It was informed during the meeting that various committees have been formed at both the Rajasthan State Sports Council and divisional levels, and that officials of the Sports Authority of India and sports federations have already inspected the venues and facilities.

Unity Marches to Be Held Across All Districts

Highlighting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s significant contribution in unifying the nation, CM Sharma said that his 150th birth anniversary will be celebrated as part of a national campaign promoting the vision of a developed and self-reliant India. He instructed officials to ensure that these activities are organized on a historic scale and reach the masses.

He announced that a state-level Unity March (Padyatra) will be held on October 31 in Jaipur, from Gandhi Circle to Amar Jawan Jyoti, and that similar marches should be organized in every district. The Chief Minister also directed that Rajasthan actively participate in the national march from Karamsad to Kevadia, to be held from November 26 to December 6.

Engage Youth in Sardar@150 Programs

CM Sharma urged officials to involve maximum participation of youth in the activities to be held across all districts from October 31 to November 25. He directed that events under this campaign focus on the theme of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). The Higher Education Department has been instructed to encourage student participation in the Sardar@150 Young Leader Quiz, Sardar@150 Reel Competition, and Sardar@150 Essay Contest.

The meeting was attended by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, and senior officials from various departments.
