TN Chief Minister Stalin Inspects Construction Works of New Dharmapuri Bus Stand and Dharmapuri SIPCOT Industrial Park
Nov 2025 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin, who visited Dharmapuri district personally inspected the ongoing construction works of the new Dharmapuri Municipal Bus Stand and the Dharmapuri SIPCOT Industrial Park.
New Dharmapuri Municipal Bus Stand
The new bus stand is being constructed on 10 acres of land located at A. Sattamangalam village near Dharmapuri municipality, under the jurisdiction of Bogathur Panchayat.
The project is being executed with public–private partnership, at an estimated cost of ₹39.14 crore.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister reviewed the construction progress, examined the facilities in detail, and instructed officials to complete the works at the earliest.
Key Facilities in the New Bus Stand
The bus stand complex includes:
- Commercial shops on the ground and first floors
- Restaurants
- ATM centre
- Luggage security facilities
- Toilet blocks
- Drinking water facilities
- Mother’s feeding room
- Separate rest rooms for passengers, drivers, and conductors
- Parking bays for 55 buses
- Escalator facilities in passenger waiting areas
- Stormwater drainage and sewer systems
The construction of all these facilities is progressing at full pace.
Dharmapuri SIPCOT Industrial Park
The Chief Minister also inspected the construction works taking place at the Dharmapuri SIPCOT Industrial Park, including:
- Administrative building
- Internal roads
- Stormwater drain systems
He directed officials to complete these works on schedule.
A total of 1,733 acres of land was acquired across the villages of Athikodi (Dharmapuri Taluk), Thadangam, Athiyaman Kottai, and Kolajangamanahalli (Nallampalli Taluk). Environmental clearance was obtained on 04.11.2024, and the industrial park was officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister on 17.08.2025.
Infrastructure Investments
For internal infrastructure—such as roads, stormwater drains, streetlights, and water supply—
a financial sanction of ₹937.36 crore has been approved.
Additionally:
- A 1.35 km-long access road has been completed at a cost of ₹14.04 crore.
- Public works for widening Main Road 44 at a cost of ₹5.42 crore have been approved and started in March, scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
Further, ₹103.08 crore has been sanctioned for first-phase infrastructure (storm drains, internal roads, etc.) over 200 acres. Works worth ₹66.70 crore are currently in progress and scheduled for completion by June 2026.
Land Allotment & Expansion
- 40.91 acres of land have been allotted to 9 industrial units within the park.
- For Phase II expansion, 690 acres have been identified in Athikodi, Thadangam, and Kolajangamanahalli villages.
- Of this, 132 acres of patta land have received administrative approval for acquisition, and acquisition activities are underway.
- Transfer steps for the remaining 558 acres of poramboke land to SIPCOT are in progress.
Once fully operational, the Dharmapuri SIPCOT Industrial Park will become one of Tamil Nadu’s major industrial hubs.
Special focus will be given to industries related to battery and electric vehicle manufacturing.
