Lokesh Urges Bihar Voters to Re-Elect NDA, Says Double-Engine Government Key to Sustained Growth
Nov 2025 : Andhra Pradesh Human Resources Development and Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh on Sunday appealed to the people of Bihar to give the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) another mandate, asserting that only a double-engine government can ensure uninterrupted development. On the final day of campaigning for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary addressed a press conference in Patna and strongly advocated for continuity in governance.

Lokesh cautioned voters that Bihar is currently on a trajectory of growth and that replacing the government at this crucial stage would hamper the state’s progress. Drawing a comparison with his own state, he said that the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) came to power in Andhra Pradesh by persuading people to “give them one chance,” but once in office, their governance allegedly pushed several industries out of the state. This, he claimed, should serve as a lesson to Bihar’s electorate.
“We must understand the importance of a double-engine government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar together can fulfil the vision for Bihar,” Lokesh said. “The aircraft is on the runway—it is time for Bihar to take off. This is not the moment to hit the brakes. I appeal to the people to give the NDA a fifth consecutive term so we can ensure the state’s comprehensive development.”
Recalling Bihar’s past, Lokesh said that “jungle raj” prevailed before Nitish Kumar assumed office, but the state has since witnessed steady progress because of the NDA’s governance model. He said industrialists in Patna expressed satisfaction with ongoing development works as well as the state government’s policies. Lokesh also highlighted that Bihar has received the highest allocation of funds in the Union Budget, while Andhra Pradesh ranks second. “This has been possible because both states are governed by the NDA,” he added.
According to Lokesh, three major factors make the NDA’s victory essential: the leadership’s proven track record, the benefits of a double-engine government, and the importance of maintaining continuity in governance. He stressed that Bihar has a pivotal role in helping India achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation, and urged the youth of the state to vote decisively for the NDA to ensure all-round progress.
During his visit to Patna, Lokesh also met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In a post on X, he praised Pradhan’s efforts, noting that the BJP leader played an instrumental role in the party’s electoral victories in Haryana and Odisha. Lokesh congratulated Pradhan for his “constructive and tireless efforts” toward bringing the NDA back to power in Bihar and said he was confident of a positive outcome for the alliance.
Earlier in the day, the TDP leader held meetings with representatives from the Bihar Industries Association and the Chamber of Commerce. He told them that India’s development hinges on strong and prosperous states. “The people of the country chose the right leader at the right time as Prime Minister,” Lokesh said, referring to Narendra Modi. “As a result, India has witnessed unprecedented growth in the last decade.”
Emphasising collaboration and continuity, Lokesh reiterated that Bihar’s progress is tied to the NDA’s governance and that only a stable, aligned government at both the Centre and the state can ensure sustained development. He urged voters to trust the leadership that has already delivered visible results and to support the NDA once again for the future of Bihar.
