Patna, Nov 2025 — The second phase of polling for the Bihar Assembly elections will begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday (November 11), with 1,302 candidates in the fray for 122 constituencies spread across 20 districts. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that all preparations are complete to ensure free, fair, and peaceful voting.
Of the total candidates contesting in this phase, 1,165 are men, 136 are women, and one candidate identifies as belonging to the third gender. The primary contest is expected between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition Grand Alliance, though parties such as AIMIM and the Jan Suraj Party are also presenting competitive fights in select constituencies.
Among the 122 constituencies going to the polls, 101 are General seats, 19 are reserved for Scheduled Castes, and two are reserved for Scheduled Tribes. A total of 3,70,13,556 registered electors are eligible to cast their vote in this phase, including 10,21,812 first-time voters added to the rolls after the Special Summary Revision.

Notably, 7,69,356 electors in the age group of 18–19 years will be voting in an Assembly election for the first time.
To facilitate smooth polling, the ECI has set up 45,399 polling stations across the 20 districts. Of these, 5,326 polling stations are located in urban areas and 40,073 in rural regions. The average number of electors per polling station is 815, ensuring manageable crowd flow and minimal congestion.
In a move to promote inclusivity and voter confidence, the ECI has designated 595 polling stations as all-women-managed booths, 91 stations to be managed exclusively by Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and 316 booths as model polling stations featuring enhanced facilities. All polling stations will be equipped with web-casting to monitor the voting process in real time.
Polling on Tuesday will cover the districts of West Champaran, East Champaran, Supaul, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Araria, Purnea, Kishanganj, Katihar, Banka, Bhagalpur, Nawada, Jamui, Aurangabad, Gaya, Rohtas, Kaimur, Jehanabad, and Arwal.
