Odisha Govt Directs Oil Companies to Ensure Timely, Uninterrupted LPG Supply to Consumers
Bhubaneswar, Nov 2025 : The Odisha government has issued firm instructions to public sector oil companies operating in the state to ensure seamless and timely delivery of LPG cylinders to consumers. Chairing a review meeting with representatives of these companies, Principal Secretary of Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, stressed that there must be no compromise on punctual delivery of cooking gas.
He directed oil marketing companies to maintain adequate stock levels across the state, strengthen supply chains, and prioritise consumer interests at all times. Addressing reports about the availability of 5 kg cylinders being sold without proper safety mechanisms, Singh instructed officials to take swift action against such violations.
To curb malpractice, he further directed officials to conduct routine inspections in response to complaints of black marketing and unauthorised filling centres. Ensuring an uninterrupted supply chain, he said, requires constant coordination between consumers, oil companies, and distributors. He also advised officials to write to the companies, asking them to establish multiple supply sources to strengthen the state’s LPG distribution network.
Present at the meeting were Indian Oil Chief General Manager Naro Tundup, HPCL Deputy General Manager M. N. Srinivas, BPCL State Head Raj Kumar Singh, Chief Manager Pranali Meshram, IOCL Chief Manager K. C. Seth, and Additional Director Salauddin Khan.
