Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas is like Diwali and Holi for us : Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas  is as significant as Diwali and Holi. The 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda revered as the protector of tribal identity and a symbol of self-respect and self-rule is celebrated with great enthusiasm. On the fifth Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas , India is paying homage to tribal heroes. The sacred land of Aalirajpur, enriched by the bravery and hard work of tribal communities, has given birth to two immortal warriors of the freedom struggle — Chhitu Kirad and Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad.

Chhitu Kirad organized tribals during the revolt of 1857 and made the British face severe resistance. It is a matter of honour to unveil the statues of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and martyr Chhitu Kirad. The Aalirajpur region, rich in tribal culture, is no less than heaven. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state has received many development projects. On Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, Aalirajpur is receiving 156 development projects worth ₹250 crore related to tribal welfare – for education, health, and infrastructure.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the state-level program organized in Aalirajpur on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas. He inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp and participated in the collective singing of Vande Mataram. He unveiled the statues of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and martyr Chhitu Kirad.

Aalirajpur gets recognition after being named after Raja Aalia

The Chief Minister said that the British committed atrocities and massacres on Indians. Bhagwan Birsa Munda, along with the tribal society, launched an armed rebellion challenging the British. He also campaigned against addiction and for the protection of cows.

Tantya Mama, the revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad, and martyr Chhitu Kirad advanced the freedom struggle from Madhya Pradesh. Remembering these freedom fighters fills us with pride. Chhitu Kirad symbolized the courage. He strongly opposed British tax exploitation and forced levies. During famine, he distributed grain from British warehouses to needy families.

Despite having played a crucial role in India’s freedom struggle, tribal heroes did not receive due recognition after independence. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, Janjatiya Gaurav is being restored with dignity.

Dr. Yadav said that Aalirajpur is the land of tribal culture and self-respect. Raja Aalia symbolized the pride, leadership, and glory of this region. Two months ago, the state government restored the district’s rightful identity by naming it Alirajpur after Raja Alia.
