Tej Pratap Explodes After Sister Rohini Claims Assault Threat; Warns ‘Jaichands’ of Public Fury

Patna, Nov 2025 : The ongoing tensions within the RJD family escalated sharply on Saturday after Rohini Acharya, daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, alleged that she was harassed and threatened at the family’s Patna residence. Her elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav—now a Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) leader—launched a fierce attack on party “outsiders,” whom he accused of creating rifts within the family and humiliating his sister.

The controversy erupted when Rohini, who donated a kidney to her father in 2022, abruptly left the residence, claiming that she was verbally abused, mistreated, and even threatened with being assaulted using slippers. She blamed unidentified “outsiders” in the party for the incident and for RJD’s poor performance in the recent Bihar Assembly elections. Her statement ignited a political storm, revealing once again the deep internal chasms that have plagued the family for years.

Tej Pratap, who has been estranged from both the family and the RJD leadership since his removal from party responsibilities, reacted with rare intensity. Taking to social media, he called the treatment of his sister “intolerable, shameful, and beyond forgiveness,” and alleged that a small group of individuals had taken control of the party and were now turning against the family itself.

In a strongly worded post, he wrote, “Yesterday’s incident has shaken me to the core. I tolerated whatever happened to me, but the humiliation inflicted on my sister is unbearable under any circumstances. If anyone dares attack my family, the people of Bihar will give them an answer they will never forget.”

Referring to the accused as “Jaichands”—a term used historically to denote traitors—Tej Pratap warned that these elements were working to divide the family for their personal gains. He claimed that their influence had clouded even the judgement of his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, who leads the RJD.

“Ever since I heard about my sister being attacked with slippers, the pain in my heart has turned into fire. These few faces have even overshadowed Tejashwi’s intellect,” he wrote, suggesting that the crisis was not merely a family matter but one affecting the dignity of Bihar itself.

Tej Pratap issued an emotional appeal to his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav. Calling him his political guru and guiding force, he said: “Father, please give me a signal. Just one gesture from you, and the people of Bihar will bury these Jaichands.”

He further asserted that his battle was no longer political but personal, rooted in the honour of his sister and the prestige of the state. “This fight is not for any party. It is for the dignity of the daughter, the respect of the family, and the self-respect of Bihar,” he declared.

The episode has intensified questions surrounding the internal cohesion of the RJD, already under strain after electoral setbacks. As the voices grow louder and accusations sharper, the party now faces rising pressure to address the turmoil within its top leadership before it spirals into further public discord.
