The Dream of a Career in the Skies Is Now Becoming a Reality
Third CG NCC Air Squadron Cadets of PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Receive Flight Training in Jagdalpur
Raipur, Nov 2025 : The long-cherished dream of young people to build a career in the skies is rapidly becoming a reality. Thanks to the special efforts of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of Jashpur district has received approval for the Third CG NCC Air Squadron. As part of this initiative, NCC cadets from the school are now undergoing the next phase of advanced training in Jagdalpur.

Five cadets — Akash Banjare, Aryan Nikunj, Atharv Bhagat, Ansh Kumar Bhagat, and Utkarsh — are receiving training here under the guidance of their coach, Kamlesh Vishwakarma.
Training Underway in Various Flying Courses
Earlier, for the first time outside Raipur, the first phase of base flying training was successfully conducted in Jashpur. Jagdalpur has now been chosen for the second phase. The upcoming phases are proposed to be held in Ambikapur, Bilaspur, and Durg–Bhilai.
All these programmes are being organized under the joint supervision of the Raipur Group and the NCC Directorate of Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh.
Cadets are being trained in multiple flight courses using the single-engine, twin-seater Virus SW-80 aircraft. Flying this microlight aircraft offers cadets not only their first real experience of air training but also an important opportunity to develop decision-making skills within a limited timeframe and a controlled environment.
Cadets Encouraged to Join the Mainstream of Nation-Building
The training programme is receiving continuous support from the Army, the Indian Air Force, the district administration, and the police department. Along with flight training, cadets are being encouraged to internalise the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline” and to become active contributors to the state’s future, its development, and the wider mission of nation-building.
Chief Minister Sai Launched the Registration of Selected JNV Air NCC Cadets
Recently, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai formally launched the registration process for 25 talented students selected for the Air NCC unit of PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya by pinning the NCC cadet badges on them. The selected group includes 13 girls and 12 boys.
During the NCC Day celebrations, the Chief Minister had expressed the desire that air training and Air NCC should not be limited only to Raipur, especially when places like Jagdalpur, Bilaspur, Ambikapur, and Jashpur already have suitable airstrips. Acting on his vision, the Jashpur Aagadiha airstrip was approved in March for the 3 CG Air NCC Squadron, and a microlight aircraft was dispatched to Jashpur for training.
During this period, around 100 cadets were provided with real flying experience.
