Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s Commitment to Minority Development

Mumbai : Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar believes that addressing the backwardness of minorities in the state will accelerate their overall development efforts. The State Cabinet has decided to establish a Minority Research and Training Institute (MRTI) on the lines of ‘Tarti’, ‘Barti’, ‘Sarathi’, ‘Mahajyoti’, and ‘Amrit’ to achieve this goal. Many Muslim and minority organizations across the state have congratulated Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, acknowledging his successful efforts.

Ajit Pawar has been tirelessly working to advance the development plans for Muslims and other minorities in the state. Due to his persistent efforts, the Mahayuti Government had already decided to establish a Minority Commissionerate, which is now in its final stages. Today, the cabinet approved the establishment of the MRTI, further strengthening Pawar’s commitment to the minority community’s progress.

In the recent budget, Ajit Pawar increased the government guarantee limit on loans for schemes by the Maulana Azad Minority Economic Development Corporation from Rs 30 crore to Rs 500 crore. The budget also announced a scholarship scheme for minority students pursuing foreign education, starting from 2024-25. Additionally, a Minority Commissionerate and Minority Cells at the district level were established earlier this year. Now, with the approval of MRTI, which includes 11 new posts and a total expenditure of Rs 6.25 crore for salaries, office expenses, research, and training, Pawar’s initiatives continue to pave the way for the upliftment of the minority community.
