Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade Conducts Surprise Inspection of Road and Culvert Construction in Odgi

Raipur, Nov 2025 : Women & Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade conducted a surprise inspection of the road and culvert constructed by the Public Works Department on the Dharseidi–Karri–Kuppi route in the Odgi development block of Surajpur district.

During the inspection, Minister Rajwade closely examined the quality of the newly constructed road, the materials used, and the overall construction process. It was found that several parts of the road did not adhere to the prescribed construction standards and that the work remained incomplete. Expressing strong displeasure, she reprimanded the departmental officials and instructed them to ensure immediate corrective action.

The Minister directed the concerned officials and the construction agency to reconstruct the entire stretch as per quality standards and to complete the work within the stipulated timeline. She emphasized that rural roads are the lifeline of local residents, crucial for daily commuting, ambulance services, children’s access to schools, and other essential services. Therefore, any negligence in such works would not be tolerated.

Officials from the Public Works Department, local public representatives from the Odgi region, and villagers were present during the inspection.
