Hard Work in the Fields Pays Off, Farmer’s Crop Ready for Sale
Government’s Paddy Procurement Boosts Farmers’ Confidence – Farmer Annu Jaiswal
Raipur, Nov 2025 : Annu Jaiswal, a farmer from Tilkeja village in the district, is extremely excited about this year’s paddy procurement season. Cultivating just 3 acres of agricultural land along with his father, Shri Ramu Jaiswal, and the entire family, Annu had sold about 60 quintals of paddy at the support price last year, earning a good income. The timely payment not only strengthened their farming operations but also improved the family’s financial condition.
Amid the ongoing paddy harvesting, as Annu evaluates his crop, his face clearly reflects hope and enthusiasm for this year’s procurement. Surrounded by threshers and tractors working in the fields, he shares that the government’s transparent and smooth paddy procurement system has been a great relief for small farmers.
Annu says that the timely payment last year enabled him to purchase better seeds, fertilisers, and other essential farming inputs. It also made it easier to meet the family’s daily needs. This year too, he hopes to receive good financial returns from paddy procurement. The Chhattisgarh government’s high procurement price for paddy, quick DBT payments, and improved management at procurement centres have increased farmers’ confidence. Many small farmers like Annu are directly benefiting from these schemes and continuously improving their agricultural practices.
