New Delhi, 24 November 2025 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the grand three-day congregation being held at Delhi’s historic Red Fort grounds to mark the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. He offered his respects and paid homage to Guru Sahib.

On this occasion, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Cabinet Ministers Pravesh Sahib Singh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra, along with distinguished members of the Sikh community and a large gathering of devotees, were also present. The Home Minister bowed before the Guru Granth Sahib and interacted with devotees, describing the congregation as unparalleled in its spiritual devotion and reverence.
Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the congregation as historic and inspiring and said that when the idea of organising this three-day congregation was first conceived, it was not anticipated that such immense blessings from the sangat and such divine grace of Guru Sahib would be received. Witnessing lakhs of devotees gathered in the grand pandal today fills the heart with joy, she said, adding that the people of Delhi continue to hold the supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib close to their hearts.
The Chief Minister said that the Red Fort where Guru Sahib’s martyrdom once took place, where Aurangzeb’s tyranny was witnessed, and where the sacrifices of Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji and Bhai Dyalā Ji were made today stands witness to the devotion and dedication of lakhs of devotees. She said that the nation has never forgotten, and will never forget, the martyrdom of Guru Sahib. With this spirit, the Delhi Government will organise programmes throughout the year across the capital to spread Guru Sahib’s teachings and his great sacrifice amongst the people.
She added that the government will continue striving to ensure that such inspirational events are held throughout the year, so that Guru Sahib’s humanistic message reaches every family and every child. Referring to the recent major terrorist attack in Delhi, the Chief Minister said there had been concerns regarding whether the programme could continue smoothly.
However, the Honourable Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured complete security and expressed his intention to personally visit and bow before Guru Sahib. His presence and tribute today, she said, has been a great source of strength for this event.
The Chief Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and all partner organisations that have been tirelessly working for the last two months to ensure the success of this grand congregation.
A continuous flow of devotees was witnessed throughout the day, with thousands arriving at the Red Fort grounds. They took part in the parikrama of Guru Sahib’s sacred form, engaged in shabad-simran and participated in ardas. The Sikh sangat of Delhi, along with the general public, described the event as “a unique experience witnessed for the first time”, where devotion, discipline and spiritual energy were seen in perfect harmony.
The vast langar service continues to stand as an extraordinary example of humanity and selfless service. Volunteers are engaged day and night, and people from all sections of society are partaking in it with deep reverence. Similarly, the special museum set up at the venue is connecting devotees with an inspiring journey through history, showcasing rare documents, photographs and memorabilia depicting the life and legacy of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib.
