Green Skill Development Programme Training Inaugurated

Aizawl, Nov, 2025: The Mizoram Pollution Control Board (MPCB), under the Mizoram EIACP Hub, inaugurated the Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) training — Certificate Course in Waste Optimization Professional — at Govt. Aizawl College, Sikulpuikawn. The two-month training was formally launched by Pu Liankima Lailung, IFS (Retd.), Chairman of the Mizoram Pollution Control Board.

This training course, to be conducted under the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India, aims to equip participants with practical knowledge and clear understanding of various waste management methods and sustainable practices. A total of 20 graduates have been selected for this training, which is scheduled to conclude on March 5, 2026.

The primary objective of this programme is to provide young graduates and unemployed youths with focused skills in environmental management. Trainees will be awarded a Green Certificate, which is expected to significantly support their employment prospects, whether in professional workplaces or through self-employment initiatives in environmental services.

The training programme began today with the first session delivered by Pi P.C. Lalmuanpui, Executive Engineer, MPCB.

The GSDP, launched under the Skill India Mission of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), is being implemented across various States of India. Under this programme, training courses are being organized for youth aged 18 and above who are not currently employed in formal jobs. In Mizoram, the programme is being implemented by the Mizoram EIACP Hub.
