300-Year-Old Rajasthani Jutti & Mojari Craft Shines at IITF 2025

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : At the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, traditional Rajasthani handicrafts have emerged as a major attraction this year. Amid shifting fashion trends and modern designs, the demand for indigenous, handcrafted products continues to rise — and leading this trend are Rajasthan’s famous juttis and mojris. These are not just products, but a living blend of art, culture, and heritage.

The Rajasthan Pavilion at New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan has become a highlight of the fair due to its vibrant colours, folk culture, and unique crafts. The traditional Rajasthani juttis and timeless mojris displayed here are proving to be favourites among visitors and buyers alike.

National award-winning artisan Shri Mohan Lal Bhati from Jodhpur shared insights about his craft and legacy. He explained that it takes about three to four days of meticulous handwork to create a single pair of jutti. This intricate craft has been passed down in his family for over 300 years, and he continues to carry forward this heritage with full dedication.

Bhati is not only preserving this legacy but also working to connect the younger generation with it. Students from prestigious design institutes like the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) visit his workshop for internships and training, where they learn the techniques and fine details of traditional jutti making.

He also shared that his workshop now produces not just classic traditional footwear, but also new designs tailored to meet the modern needs of the fashion industry. His goal is to give this indigenous art form a strong global identity and revive its popularity among today’s youth.
