Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal Join Sangat in Prayer on Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th Martyrdom Anniversary

Nov 2025 : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal joined the sangat on Tuesday to offer prayers for the progress of Punjab and the prosperity of its people. The leaders participated in the ardaas (community prayer) following the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara Baba Budha Dal Chauni. The ceremony was held to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur and to honor the supreme sacrifices of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji.

Addressing the gathering, both Mann and Kejriwal expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the historic observances. They noted that being part of the events marking Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th martyrdom anniversary was not only an honor but also a moment of profound reflection. They emphasized that Sikhism has long served as a guiding light of true socialism and secularism, spreading messages of equality, justice, and compassion across the world.

The leaders highlighted that the Guru Granth Sahib stands as a universal beacon of brotherhood and harmony, offering spiritual guidance to people of all backgrounds. Mann and Kejriwal said that Punjabis, and Sikhs especially, carry forward a proud legacy of resilience, courage, and sacrifice—values instilled by the Sikh Gurus who taught generations to stand firmly against tyranny, oppression, and injustice.

They reiterated that preserving this extraordinary cultural and spiritual heritage is the solemn duty of the Punjab government. Ensuring that future generations understand and cherish the sacrifices of the Sikh Gurus, they said, is essential to maintaining Punjab’s identity and moral foundation.

Both leaders noted that the global Sikh community, as well as millions of others, hold a deep desire to see Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th Martyrdom Day commemorated on a grand and befitting scale. In response, the Punjab government has made earnest efforts to honor the Guru’s unparalleled sacrifice and ensure that these commemorations remain memorable for all who participate.

Mann and Kejriwal concluded that the government and the people of Punjab consider themselves immensely fortunate to be part of such a sacred and historic occasion—one that reinforces the timeless values of courage, unity, and spiritual devotion.
