CM Dr. Yadav was paid a Cortesy Visit by Talented Football Players from ‘Mini Brazil’ (Vicharpur)
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was visited by Football players from Vicharpur village in Shahdol, popularly known as ‘Mini Brazil’, at the Mantralaya on Tuesday. The players were accompanied by their German coaches, Dietmar Beiersdorfer and Manuel Schäfer, with Sports Director Shri Rakesh Gupta. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated all the players for their excellent performance and extended best wishes for success in future tournaments. He also welcomed both international coaches.
Vicharpur village in the Shahdol district has earned the title ‘Mini Brazil’. The players recently returned from an international training tour in Germany. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had also praised the players of Shahdol district during his radio broadcast ‘Mann Ki Baat’. On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Sports Department arranged for the football players of Vicharpur, known as Mini Brazil, to be sent to Germany for training. The Sports Department and the Indian Embassy facilitated the required financial and administrative arrangements. Before their foreign tour, the players were provided with football kits, sports shoes, fitness assessments, medical check-ups and pre-tour training sessions.
Players Share Experiences of Germany Visit
The football players from Vicharpur shared their experiences of the training they received in Germany from October 4 to 12 with Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. The players were welcomed upon their return to Bhopal on 14 October. This week, German football coaches Dietmar Beiersdorfer and Manuel Schäfer also visited Vicharpur to meet the players’ families. The coaches further interacted with the football players at Tatya Tope Nagar Stadium in Bhopal.
