New Delhi, Nov 2025 : On the anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, President Droupadi Murmu paid heartfelt tribute to the soldiers and civilians who laid down their lives defending the nation, emphasizing that India will always honor their supreme sacrifice.

The 26/11 attacks, which shook the nation in 2008, were a series of 12 coordinated terrorist strikes carried out by 10 militants from the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba. Over the course of four days, from November 26 to 29, the attackers targeted multiple locations in Mumbai, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Oberoi Trident Hotel, and several other key sites, leaving a lasting scar on the city and the country.

A total of 175 people were killed in the attacks, including 26 foreign nationals and 20 security force personnel. Nine of the ten attackers died during the operations, while Ajmal Kasab, the lone captured terrorist, was later executed after due legal process.
