Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Reviews Rabi 2025–26 Fertilizer Supply; Assures Adequate Availability, Orders Strict Action Against Black Marketing

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that due to good rainfall this year, farmers have begun early sowing of Rabi crops. He assured that adequate quantities of fertilizers are available as per farmers’ requirements and that there will be no shortage in timely fertilizer supply.

Mr. Sharma was presiding over the review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office on the allocation, supply, and current availability of fertilizers for the Rabi Season 2025. He directed officials to maintain sufficient fertilizer availability in all districts and ensure uninterrupted supply.

Provide Regular Information to Farmers About Fertilizer Availability —

Mr. Sharma said that often, due to lack of accurate information, farmers end up purchasing more fertilizer than required. Therefore, farmers across all districts should be regularly informed about fertilizer availability and assured that the government will ensure timely supply. He instructed officials to issue dedicated contact numbers for registering fertilizer-supply-related complaints.

The Chief Minister instructed that the use of subsidized urea for non-agricultural or industrial purposes must be completely curbed. Strict action should be taken against black marketing and illegal storage of fertilizers, and licenses of involved dealers should be cancelled.

Strict Vigilance in Inter-State Border Districts —

Mr. Sharma directed that strict monitoring be ensured in border districts to prevent the unauthorized movement of fertilizers to other states. He also stressed strengthening Gram Seva Cooperative Societies for increased fertilizer procurement and distribution through them.

During the meeting, it was informed that the Agriculture Department has taken stern action against black marketing and illegal storage, conducting 11,634 surprise inspections from 1 April 2025 till now. As part of this, 589 show-cause notices have been issued for black marketing, 77 licenses suspended/cancelled, and 47 FIRs registered. In cases of illegal storage, 30 show-cause notices, 24 license suspensions/cancellations, and 27 FIRs have been filed. Action has also been taken against substandard quality fertilizer and diversion cases.

Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and officials from the Agriculture, Cooperation, and related departments were present in the meeting.
