Rajesh Agarwal Assumes Charge as Chief Secretary

Mumbai, Nov 2025 – Newly appointed Chief Secretary Rajesh Agarwal assumed office today, succeeding outgoing Chief Secretary Rajeshkumar. The state government had issued the official orders for Mr. Agarwal’s appointment as Maharashtra’s Chief Secretary.

The ceremony was held in the Chief Secretary’s chamber at the Secretariat. Several senior officials were present, including:

After assuming charge, Chief Secretary Rajesh Agarwal said, “I will work effectively to enhance Maharashtra’s development and prestige.”

Rajesh Agarwal is a 1989 batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service (Maharashtra cadre), originally from Jalandhar, Punjab. He holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Systems.
