Anupam Kher Honoured with DAV Ratna Award by Governor

Mumbai, Nov 2025 – Renowned actor and former student of DAV Public School, Shimla, Anupam Kher was honoured with the DAV Ratna Award by Governor Acharya Devvrat.

At a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, the DAV Management Committee felicitated distinguished alumni of the institution. The Governor congratulated all former students present and lauded their contributions to the nation across various fields.

Speaking about his formative years, Anupam Kher mentioned that he studied at DAV Public School, Shimla, from first to eleventh grade. He highlighted the school’s pivotal role in instilling Indian values and patriotism in him, describing its influence as “truly exceptional.” Kher also recalled that while the teachers were strict and disciplined, they imparted love and cultural values alongside education.

The event was attended by the Governor’s wife Darshana Devi, DAV College Management Committee Chairman Poonam Suri, DAV Director Dr. Nisha Pesheen, and other senior officials of the institution.
