Leaders Across India Extend Warm Wishes to Nagaland on Its Statehood Day

Dec 2025 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday conveyed heartfelt greetings to the people of Nagaland on the occasion of the state’s foundation day. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dhami expressed hope that Nagaland will continue to move forward on the path of peace, progress and prosperity.

“Heartiest greetings and best wishes to all the citizens of Nagaland, blessed with diverse cultural heritage, rich traditions and natural beauty, on Statehood Day. It is my heartfelt wish that Nagaland continues to move forward on the path of progress, prosperity and peace,” he wrote.

Several national leaders, including the President, senior parliamentarians and chief ministers, also extended warm wishes to the people of Nagaland as the state celebrated its 63rd Statehood Day.

President Droupadi Murmu praised Nagaland’s achievements in sustainable development and lauded its rich cultural identity. “Heartiest greetings to the people of Nagaland on their Statehood Day! Endowed with a rich culture and immense natural beauty, Nagaland is making commendable progress in sustainable development. Its tribal diversity and unique heritage remain a source of pride. I wish the people of Nagaland a bright, prosperous and peaceful future,” she said.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also shared her greetings, describing Nagaland’s cultural legacy as a source of national pride. “Nagaland’s vibrant cultural heritage and the generous spirit of its people are a source of pride for the entire nation. Naga traditions exemplify perseverance, harmony and service. I wish Nagaland continued progress, peace and prosperity in the years to come,” she said.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla commended Nagaland’s rich traditions and natural beauty while extending his wishes. “Renowned for its vibrant traditions, courageous spirit and breathtaking landscapes, Nagaland continues to inspire with its rich cultural heritage. May the state move forward with greater progress, harmony and opportunities for its youth and communities,” he said.

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi also greeted the people of Nagaland, highlighting the state’s natural beauty and cultural diversity. “Your beautiful hills, rich biodiversity and vibrant cultures add to the diversity of India. May Nagaland continue to grow and achieve even greater success. Let us all work together to preserve its unique heritage,” he said.

In Nagaland, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio marked the occasion by honoring leaders who played vital roles in safeguarding the state’s identity and rights. Reflecting on the significance of the day, he wrote: “Heartiest greetings on our 63rd Statehood Day. We honour our leaders who safeguarded our rights and identity, and the visionaries who shaped our future. Let us work together for a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Nagaland and reaffirm our commitment to its progress and well-being.”

Nagaland celebrates Statehood Day every year on December 1, commemorating its establishment as the 16th state of India in 1963.
