No Shortage of Urea Will Be Allowed in Rajasthan – Union Fertilizer Secretary

33,000 Metric Tonnes of Urea to Reach the State Within the Next 3 Days

Jaipur, Dec 2025 : Union Fertilizer Secretary Mr. Rajat Kumar Mishra on Monday held a meeting via video conference with state departmental officials to ensure the availability and uninterrupted supply of urea in Rajasthan. Mrs. Manju Rajpal, Principal Secretary of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department, was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the Union Secretary said that no shortage of urea will be allowed in Rajasthan. A proposal has been received for the supply of 40 rakes of urea in the first week of December, which will ensure a total supply of 1,08,000 metric tonnes of urea to the state.

The meeting involved detailed discussions on the urea requirement for the Rabi season, available stock, distribution arrangements, and transportation processes. Mrs. Manju Rajpal instructed departmental officials to ensure that farmers receive adequate quantities of urea in a timely manner. She directed officials to ensure that there is no disruption in the supply chain and to coordinate at the district level for smooth distribution of urea.

Mrs. Rajpal said that the department is regularly reviewing urea distribution, and additional measures will be taken whenever required to ensure that no district faces any shortage.

The Principal Secretary urged the Centre to increase December and pending supply allocation from 3.80 lakh metric tonnes to 4.76 lakh metric tonnes. She informed that as of December 1, nine rakes of urea are in transit and three rakes are being loaded. She added that 33,000 metric tonnes of urea will be supplied within the next three days to Eastern Rajasthan and all other high-demand regions of the state.
