Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Invites PM Modi to Telangana Rising 2047 Global Summit, Seeks Support for Key Infra Projects

New Delhi, Dec 2025 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to extend a formal invitation to the upcoming ‘Telangana Rising 2047 Global Summit’, scheduled to take place in Hyderabad next week. During the meeting, the Chief Minister also sought the Centre’s cooperation and approvals for major infrastructure initiatives considered crucial to the state’s long-term development vision.

The meeting, held in the Parliament premises, was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Revanth Reddy personally presented the Prime Minister with a specially designed invitation card for the summit, which will be held on December 8 and 9 at Bharat Future City in Hyderabad.

Revanth Reddy briefed the Prime Minister on the state’s ambitious growth roadmap aligned with the Union Government’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision. He emphasised that Telangana aims to become a $3-trillion economy by 2047, and to support this goal, the state has prepared an extensive Telangana Rising 2047 Vision Document. This document outlines sector-specific strategies, long-term development plans, and growth targets that will guide the state’s progress over the next two decades.

The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that the Vision Document was drafted with expert guidance from NITI Aayog and through consultations with specialists across various sectors. The document is set to be formally unveiled at the Global Summit, which is expected to bring together industry leaders, global investors, policymakers, and technology innovators.

Seeking the Centre’s active support for critical infrastructure priorities, the Chief Minister pressed for approvals for Phase-II expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. The state has submitted a detailed proposal to the Centre for metro network expansion spanning 162.5 km, estimated to cost ₹43,848 crore. Revanth Reddy requested that this project be taken up as a Joint Venture between the Centre and the State, similar to models adopted in other metro cities.

He also urged the PM to clear pending approvals and financial sanctions for the northern part of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) and sought permission to begin work on the southern section as well. He highlighted the importance of integrating the proposed Regional Ring Rail project, planned along the RRR corridor, to enhance connectivity, decongest urban hubs, and boost economic activity in peri-urban regions.

Additionally, the Chief Minister sought special central focus on two key expressway proposals:

  • A 12-lane Greenfield Express Highway connecting Hyderabad to Bandar Port via Amaravati
  • The Hyderabad–Bengaluru High-Speed Corridor, proposed as a Greenfield expressway

Both projects, he said, would dramatically enhance regional logistics capacity, fuel industrial growth, and strengthen inter-state economic integration.

Revanth Reddy further appealed for the Centre’s approval to construct a four-lane elevated corridor between Munnanur and Srisailam, passing through the Tiger Reserve. The elevated structure is intended to ensure seamless connectivity for pilgrims travelling from Hyderabad to Srisailam while ensuring minimal ecological disruption.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that with the Centre’s cooperation, Telangana’s development agenda under the Telangana Rising 2047 mission could move forward at an accelerated pace.

Team Maverick.
