Various activities underway in Jashpur district
Raipur, Dec 2025 : Under the Prime Minister’s Krishi Sinchai Yojana – Water Harvesting Development Component, the Government of India’s Department of Land Resources, in collaboration with the State Government, is organizing the Watershed Festival from November 19 to December 19, 2025. Conducted as a nationwide campaign, the festival includes a variety of activities at the project level in Jashpur district, such as voluntary labor contributions, project inaugurations, land worship ceremonies, awareness programs, and competitions.
As part of the festival, a state-level social media competition has also been launched. Participants stand a chance to win attractive prizes, including ₹50,000 each for four winning reels and ₹1,000 each for 100 winning photographs. Of the four winning reels, three should showcase water conservation structures built in project areas, while one reel can focus on gardening and agro-forestry activities. This competition will run until December 31, 2025.
Participants can create 30–60 second reels or photos with captions, highlighting water conservation structures such as check dams, stop dams, nala bunds, dabris, community ponds, and gabion structures made of loose boulders. In addition, activities developed under central and state government schemes, including gardening, plantation, or agricultural initiatives, may also be included.
When posting content on social media, participants must use the designated hashtag: #WDC.PMKSY.WatershedFestival.2025.
