The 22nd Mizoram Higher Secondary School Games Concludes

December, 2025: Today, the School Education Department–organized 22nd Mizoram Higher Secondary School Games concluded at Dawrpui Multipurpose Centre, Piputlang, Aizawl. Pu Zohmingthanga, Additional Director, School Education, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

Chief Guest Pu Zohmingthanga said that sports included in education are extremely important in the field of learning. Since education and sports cannot be separated and must go hand in hand, school students must have fixed time for sports so that they can remain physically and mentally healthy. As drug abuse is rising in our state, he encouraged students to stay clean by engaging in sports and urged them to give their best in every activity so that they may become responsible citizens for their families, society, and the state.

During the four-day 22nd Higher Secondary School Games, students competed in various sports disciplines such as Athletics, Football, Volleyball, Taekwondo, Inkawibah, Inhruipawh, and Kalchhet at different venues. Overall, Govt. Mizo Higher Secondary School, Aizawl secured first place with a total of 18 medals—8 Gold, 7 Silver, and 3 Bronze. Govt. GM Higher Secondary School, Champhai secured second place with a total of 13 medals—4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 8 Bronze. Third place was secured by Govt. Mamawii Higher Secondary School, Aizawl with 6 medals—4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze.
