Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil Reviews Law and Order Situation, Directs Submission of Proposal for Advanced CCTV System in MIDC
Sangli, December 2025 : Maharashtra’s Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Parliamentary Affairs, and Guardian Minister of Sangli district, Chandrakant Patil, reviewed the law and order situation in Sangli district.
The meeting was held at the Office of the Superintendent of Police and was attended by Superintendent of Police Sandeep Ghughe, Additional Superintendent of Police Kalpana Baravkar, Special Duty Officer to the Guardian Minister Balasaheb Yadav, and Police Inspectors Satish Shinde, Sanjeev Zhade, Vishal Takale, and Sanjay More, among others.
Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil stated that the police administration must give top priority to the safety of citizens. He said that strict action should be taken wherever necessary to control criminals and that a strong deterrent through the enforcement of law must be created to curb crime. In this connection, he informed that a proposal for a CCTV surveillance system in Sangli city has already been submitted at the state level for approval. Meanwhile, considering the rise in crime in the MIDC area, he directed that an immediate plan for installing advanced CCTV systems be prepared and submitted for approval to the District Planning Committee.
The Guardian Minister further said that concrete measures should be taken to maintain peace, safety, and law and order in the district. He instructed officials to develop a model system for this purpose. He also directed that streetlights and modern CCTV cameras be installed at identified black spots and that police patrolling should be intensified. He assured that if any difficulties arise during the course of implementation, they should be brought to his notice and efforts would be made to resolve them. He appreciated the coordinated efforts of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force with various departments, which have helped in curbing drug traffickers, and directed that similar effective action should continue to ensure the maintenance of law and order.
