Invitation to Apply Online for Participation in the ‘Outstanding Public Ganeshotsav Mandal’ Competition

Mumbai : The government has decided to award the best public Ganeshotsav mandals during the Ganeshotsav festival starting on 7th September 2024. Public Ganeshotsav mandals interested in participating in this competition are invited to apply online by 31st August 2024. Applications should be sent to the email address mahotsav.plda@gmail.com, following the prescribed format in Appendix “A” of the government decision.

A district-level committee has been formed to organize the competition, evaluate the best public Ganeshotsav mandals, and submit their proposals to the government. The committee will visit the festival sites of the participating Ganesh Mandals to carry out their assessments.

After evaluation, the district-level committee will recommend three Ganeshotsav mandals. Their names, along with supporting documents and videos, will be submitted to the Project Director, P. L. Deshpande, Maharashtra Kala Akademi, Mumbai, through the district collector, for further consideration by the state committee. The Mumbai Suburban Collectorate has informed that the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Ministry will issue separate instructions regarding the result date and the arrangements for the prize distribution ceremony for the winning Public Ganeshotsav Mandals.
