Telangana Unveils Three-Zone Economic Growth Model, Targets $3 Trillion Economy by 2047
Hyderabad, Dec 2025 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday unveiled an ambitious and visionary roadmap to transform the state into a global economic powerhouse, announcing that Telangana will become the first state in India to adopt a three-zone model for economic transformation. Speaking at the inaugural session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit held at the upcoming Bharat Future City, he outlined bold targets of building a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
The three-zone development strategy will divide the state’s economy into distinct growth engines — CURE (Core Urban Region Economy) focused on services, PURE (Peri-Urban Region Economy) dedicated to manufacturing and industry, and RARE (Rural and Agri Region Economy) designed for agriculture-led development. The Chief Minister said this integrated approach would ensure balanced, inclusive, and sustainable growth across urban, semi-urban, and rural Telangana.
Welcoming industry leaders, corporate executives, diplomats, policymakers, government officials, and academicians to the two-day summit, Revanth Reddy said Telangana is open for global collaboration and long-term partnerships. He highlighted the state’s strong economic fundamentals, pointing out that despite having only 2.9 per cent of India’s population, Telangana contributes nearly 5 per cent of the national GDP.
Reaffirming his long-term vision, the Chief Minister said his goal is for Telangana to contribute 10 per cent of India’s GDP by 2047, when the country celebrates 100 years of Independence. He cited China’s Guangdong province as a model of rapid and sustained development, noting that it emerged as China’s top economic powerhouse within just two decades.
“Telangana is prepared to benchmark itself against the best in the world. We are learning from China, Japan, Germany, South Korea, and Singapore. We are also inviting these nations to invest, collaborate, and partner in Telangana’s rise,” he said.
Emphasising that the future of Telangana must be shaped through collective wisdom, the Chief Minister said the state’s development vision draws inspiration from the consultative spirit that guided the drafting of India’s Constitution. He recalled the long struggle for a separate Telangana and said the dream was realised in 2014 under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
“Telangana was born as India’s youngest state. Now our goal is to make it India’s most developed state and one of the finest regions globally,” he said. He added that, on the lines of India’s constitutional process, the Telangana government undertook wide-ranging consultations to craft the long-term roadmap.
Experts were tasked to project what Telangana could achieve by 2047. This exercise, he said, laid the foundation for the ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ vision. Citizens, administrative officers, Central government experts, the Indian School of Business, and NITI Aayog all contributed to shaping the roadmap.
Over the next two days, the government will listen closely to the ideas, insights, and feedback from industry leaders and policymakers attending the summit. Revanth Reddy said the scale of the ambition may seem daunting, but assured that nothing is impossible with determination and teamwork.
“If something is difficult, let us do it immediately. If you think something is impossible, I will give you more time as the deadline,” the Chief Minister remarked, drawing applause from the audience.
Calling on the stakeholders to actively participate in the state’s transformation journey, he said, “Yesterday this was only a dream and a plan. Today, with all of you joining us, I see partners and stakeholders in this journey. With your support, Telangana Rising is unstoppable. Come, join the rise.”
