New Rays of Development Shine in Kamar & Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Settlements

Raipur, Dec 2025: Life is rapidly transforming in tribal areas under the PM Janman Yojana, bringing new hope and development to Kamar and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). Improved roads, clean water, electricity, and other basic infrastructure are significantly enhancing living standards in these remote communities.

The PM Janman Yojana aims to ensure basic facilities for PVTGs, including safe housing, clean drinking water, education, healthcare, nutrition, roads, telecommunications, and sustainable livelihood opportunities, thereby improving their socio-economic condition.

With Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai completing two years in office on December 13, 2025, significant developmental progress has been achieved in Dhamtari district. Under the Prime Minister’s Tribal Justice Campaign, efforts to strengthen basic facilities in Kamar and other PVTG settlements are progressing rapidly. The initiative focuses on providing families in remote areas with housing, clean water, electricity, roads, education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities, bringing new rays of development to these settlements.

Major Achievements under PM Janman Yojana:

Housing:
A total of 1,481 houses have been approved in the district, of which 1,046 are complete and 435 are under construction. Officials stated that the remaining houses will be completed within the next four months. Providing safe and quality housing remains the administration’s top priority.

Roads and Infrastructure:
Under the scheme, construction of 36 roads has been approved, with a total sanctioned cost of ₹134.16 crore. Most construction work is underway. Once completed, these roads will better connect remote settlements to markets, healthcare, and administrative services. In Masanadbara block, a model housing colony is under construction, which will provide modern facilities and a safe living environment for tribal families.

Water and Electricity:
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, all households now have access to clean drinking water. Electrification of all homes has been completed, improving children’s education, livelihoods, and overall safety in the villages.

Multipurpose Centers:
Multipurpose centers established by the central government are opening new opportunities for tribal communities. In Boirgaon, Nagri block, a new center is becoming a hub for education, health, hygiene, and livelihood activities. Anganwadi centers provide educational materials and toys for children, while villagers can access government schemes, training, and guidance. Construction of a 50-seater boys’ hostel in Kurreedeh market is underway and will be completed by January. Once ready, it will provide safe accommodation, meals, and essential facilities for Kamar tribal children.

Integrated Development in Model Settlements:
In Piparhibharri village, an integrated village plan and training program has documented social and resource maps, gap analyses, minor forest produce management, and livelihood plans. This work empowers communities to manage natural resources effectively and promotes sustainable development.

Full Coverage in 133 Settlements:
All rapid action activities in 133 settlements have been fully completed, ensuring that every Kamar family benefits from the scheme on time. Through the PM Janman Yojana, development, dignity, and self-reliance are reaching every tribal settlement in the district, helping families in remote areas connect to the mainstream and take strong steps toward a safe, healthy, and better life.
