Committee on Petitions of Mizoram Legislative Assembly Visits Kerala

Aizawl, December 2025: The Committee on Petitions of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly today held an interaction programme in Kerala with the Committee on Petitions of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, focusing on studying and understanding various aspects of committee functioning, procedures and working practices.

The delegation from the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Committee on Petitions was led by Chairman Pu T. Lalhlimpuia, along with members Pu H. Lalzirliana and Pi Prova Chakma. They were accompanied by officers and staff of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Secretariat. On behalf of the Kerala Legislative Assembly Committee on Petitions, the interaction was attended by Chairman Shri Antony Raju, Member Smt. K.K. Rema, Kerala Legislative Assembly Secretary Dr. N. Krishnakumar, and other Assembly officials, who warmly received the Mizoram delegation and participated in a productive exchange.

During the interaction, members from both committees discussed various petition cases, exchanged views on procedures and proceedings, and shared best practices as well as areas where improvements could be made. The discussions highlighted the crucial role of the Committee on Petitions as an important link between the people and the government, and deliberated on measures to make the committee more effective and accessible for the benefit of the public.

The interaction proved to be highly informative and useful, enabling both committees to gain insights into each other’s systems and explore ways to strengthen the functioning of the Committee on Petitions for more efficient grievance redressal and public engagement.
