New Delhi, December 2025 : The third convocation ceremony of Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) was held today with great splendour at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, in the presence of the Lieutenant Governor Shri Vinay Kumar Saxena and the Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta. The dignitaries remarked that the convocation was not merely a celebration of academic achievements, but a celebration of the future that young engineers will shape through their knowledge, innovation and values. They called upon students to come forward with solutions to the challenges faced by the nation and Delhi, particularly in the fields of engineering, innovation, green technology and infrastructure.
The event was attended by Delhi’s Education Minister Shri Ashish Sood, President of Google Asia Pacific Shri Sanjay Gupta, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, faculty members, officials, parents and a large number of students. During the ceremony, statues of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose installed at the East and West Campuses of NSUT were unveiled remotely. A Skill Centre at the East Campus and a Centre for Industry 4.0 at the West Campus were also inaugurated, marking a significant step towards equipping students with future technologies, innovation and industry-oriented skills. Degrees were conferred upon undergraduate, postgraduate and research scholars, with best wishes extended to them for a bright future.
Addressing the convocation on the theme ‘Engineering Education for Sustainable and Inclusive Development’, Lieutenant Governor Shri V.K. Saxena emphasised the paramount importance of ecological balance and environmental sustainability in all developmental and progressive efforts. He stated that engineering today is not limited to technical proficiency alone, but also entails providing solutions grounded in sustainability, inclusivity and environmental responsibility. He observed that NSUT has established itself as an institution that prepares students not only for professional success, but also for nation-building and social transformation.
Highlighting the commitment shown by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji towards the UN-COP goals in combating climate change, global warming, carbon emissions and desertification, Shri Saxena urged young graduates to align their professional futures with these objectives so as to ensure sustainable, balanced and equitable development for the country and the world. He said that technology is meaningful only when its benefits reach the last person in society, and appealed to the youth to view engineering not merely as innovation or construction, but as a powerful medium of service to society.
Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta stated that institutions such as NSUT are shaping India’s future through technical education, research and skill development. She noted that NSUT is steadily advancing towards academic excellence and is doing commendable work through its Centres of Excellence to prepare students for emerging challenges.
Describing the unveiling of the statues of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the East and West Campuses as a moment of pride, she said that Netaji’s life continues to be a source of inspiration for the younger generation. The Chief Minister remarked that, 78 years after Independence, the most crucial decisions about the country’s future direction now lie in the hands of today’s youth.
She added that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, landmark initiatives such as Digital India and Start-up India have been launched, giving fresh impetus to innovation, entrepreneurship and technological empowerment. She further observed that India is undergoing a phase of transformative change across education, technology, industry and social transformation, and that the real driving force behind this change is the youth, who will determine the direction and identity of the India of tomorrow.
The Chief Minister urged students to come forward with solutions to the challenges faced by the nation and Delhi in areas such as engineering, innovation, green technology and infrastructure. She said that a degree is not the destination in life, but a milestone, and that education and knowledge guide us in every sphere. She encouraged the youth to remain confident, never give up, and work towards bringing pride to the nation, society and their families.
Addressing the gathering, Delhi’s Education Minister Shri Ashish Sood congratulated the students on the occasion of NSUT’s third convocation and said that they are graduating at a time when India is moving rapidly towards the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’. He stated that Aatmanirbhar Bharat is not merely a slogan, but a clear resolve to create opportunities for youth within the country while expecting innovation and solutions from them.
Referring to India’s rapidly growing start-up ecosystem, global partnerships, innovation and ease of doing business, Shri Sood said that today the world wants to work with India. He called upon students to embrace courage, decisiveness and responsibility. He emphasised that success is achieved not only through degrees or marks, but through purpose, values, clarity of goals and the courage to take risks. Urging students to adopt the principles of quality, scalability, reliability and adaptability, he said that they must continuously strive to become the strongest ambassadors of ‘Brand India
