India Emerging as a Global Model Under PM Modi: Swami Chidanand Saraswati
Rishikesh, Dec 2025 : Parmarth Niketan President Swami Chidanand Saraswati has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that just as Gujarat was transformed into a model of development under his stewardship, India is now steadily emerging as a model nation before the world. He said the Prime Minister’s journey reflects a rare blend of determination, spirituality, and inclusive development.
Paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his death anniversary, Swami Chidanand Saraswati said that the Ganga Aarti performed at Parmarth Niketan on the banks of the holy Ganga in Rishikesh was dedicated to the Iron Man of India. He recalled that both Sardar Patel and Prime Minister Modi hail from Gujarat, and described their leadership as deeply influential in shaping the destiny of the nation.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati described Sardar Patel, often called the “Lion of Gujarat,” as a towering statesman whose contribution to national unity remains unparalleled. He remarked that Patel’s role in unifying the country after Independence continues to inspire generations.
“Had Sardar Patel been the country’s first Prime Minister, India’s picture would have been very different,” he said, underscoring Patel’s decisive leadership and administrative clarity.
Reflecting on Prime Minister Modi’s tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister, Swami Chidanand Saraswati said Modi faced enormous challenges, criticism, and pressure, especially during turbulent periods such as the Godhra crisis. Despite this, he said, Modi succeeded in restoring confidence and stability.
“He removed fear and confusion, ensured security and stability, and transformed Gujarat into a model that balanced development with heritage. That journey has not stopped—it is continuing even today,” he said.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati noted that India’s economic progress over the past 11 years has been significant and visible. He attributed this transformation to Prime Minister Modi’s determination, honesty, and transparency.
“How did this happen? Because Prime Minister Modi has unwavering resolve and integrity. Like the uninterrupted flow of the Ganga, he has the strength to keep moving forward. That is why Gujarat became a model, and now India is becoming one,” he said.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s spiritual grounding, Swami Chidanand Saraswati said Modi’s life journey has always been deeply rooted in spirituality and service.
“After returning from the Himalayas, he dedicated his youth to society. His life has been a blend of discipline and service. His faith in Sanatan values and reverence for saints has always remained strong,” he said.
He pointed out that several landmark projects reflect this harmonious integration of spirituality and nation-building. Initiatives such as the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, the Mahakal Lok in Ujjain, the reconstruction of Kedarnath, and the development of Ayodhya were cited as examples of preserving India’s spiritual heritage while advancing modern infrastructure.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati also noted that Prime Minister Modi often presents copies of the Bhagavad Gita to world leaders and takes visiting foreign dignitaries to witness the Ganga Aarti, showcasing India’s civilisational ethos on the global stage.
“He has maintained a fine balance between governance and spirituality. He has never disconnected from India’s cultural and religious roots. Whenever we have distanced ourselves from our values, we have weakened. Whenever we have divided ourselves, we have diminished,” he said.
Recalling earlier interactions, Swami Chidanand Saraswati said Modi’s sincerity and dedication were evident even before he held any constitutional office, when he worked solely as a party worker. According to him, the Prime Minister’s consistency and commitment have remained unchanged.
He observed that a renewed wave of Sanatan values is now visible across the country. “Sanatan means walking together with everyone—Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah. Today, along with the Hanuman Chalisa, the world is also reciting what can be called a ‘Hindustan Chalisa’,” he remarked.
Praising the Prime Minister’s work ethic and vision, he said the philosophy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ sets Modi apart. “He celebrates Diwali with soldiers guarding our borders. That itself speaks volumes,” he said.
Humming a poetic line in praise of the Prime Minister, Swami Chidanand Saraswati concluded by saying, “Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hai, tumhe zameen par utaara gaya hai Bharat ke liye,” reflecting his belief in Modi’s unique role in India’s journey.
