AI Technology to Be Effectively Used in Health Services – CM Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai, Dec 2025 Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed that artificial intelligence (AI) technology should be effectively utilized to make public health services in the state more efficient, faster, and citizen-centric.
He was speaking at a review meeting of the Public Health Department held at the ‘Varsha’ government residence. During the meeting, a detailed presentation on strengthening public health services was made on behalf of the Samagra organization. Public Health Minister Prakash Abitkar was also present.
CM Fadnavis emphasized that the proper use of modern technology will improve the quality of health services, ensure timely and accurate treatment, and effectively reach citizens in rural and remote areas. He underlined that in today’s digital era, digitization of the health system and AI-based interventions are essential.
The meeting covered initiatives such as health institution star ratings, service review reports, health helplines, training of health workers, and regular quality reviews of services. These measures, he noted, would strengthen citizens’ trust in public health services.
Officials also raised demands related to: the “Aaple Gaav, Aarogya Sampann Gaav” scheme, palliative care, treatment for sickle cell disease, streamlining recruitment of medical officers, increasing their salaries, and regularizing contractual staff under the National Health Mission. Additionally, officials highlighted the need to create new positions in AYUSH, training, and nursing sectors.
Responding positively, CM Fadnavis assured that the government would provide all necessary support to strengthen health services across the state. He stressed that long-term improvements would focus on coordinating human resources, infrastructure, and technology in the health sector.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Nipun Vinayak, Secretary, Public Health; Secretary E. Ravindran; Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, Secretary, Medical Education; Shrikar Pardeshi, Secretary to the CM; Dr. Kadambari Balkawade, Health Services Commissioner; Dr. Nitin Ambadekar, Director of Health; Gaurav Goyal, representative of Samagra; along with senior officials from the Public Health and Medical Education Departments.
