Number of Treatments under Integrated Ayushman Bharat–Mahatma Phule Scheme Rises to 2,399
Mumbai, December 2025 : To strengthen the implementation of the integrated Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana in the state, the government has taken several important, patient-friendly decisions. These reforms have paved the way for citizens to access more comprehensive, high-quality, and cashless healthcare services.
Under these reforms, the number of treatments available has increased significantly—from 1,356 to 2,399. This expansion includes a wide range of critical and specialized treatments. Additionally, treatment rates paid by the government to hospitals have been increased, and several treatment packages have also been improved. These steps are expected to encourage greater participation from hospitals and ensure better services for patients.
To further improve the quality of treatment, hospitals that meet quality standards such as NABH and NQAS will receive an additional 10 to 15 percent incentive on claim amounts. This decision aims to promote high-quality healthcare delivery.
For effective implementation of the scheme and quick grievance redressal, a ‘District Monitoring and Grievance Redressal Committee’ has been formed under the chairmanship of the District Collector. Along with this, a ‘District-Level Public Health Protection Executive Committee’ has been established under the chairmanship of the Guardian Minister to review progress and provide guidance.
A 24-hour toll-free call center service has also been launched to help patients receive information or assistance if they face any difficulty in accessing services. The helpline numbers available are 155388 / 18002332200 and 14555 / 1800111565.
Each empaneled hospital must now have a dedicated helpdesk for the scheme at its entrance. ‘Aarogyamitras’ have been appointed at these helpdesks to guide patients, provide scheme-related information, help complete documentation, and ensure cashless treatment.
Responsibility for resolving complaints related to services and treatment under the scheme has been assigned to District Coordinators, Regional Managers, District and Division Heads of the implementation support agencies, and District Medical Officers. Instructions have been issued to prominently display the contact details of all responsible officers at the hospital helpdesk.
With all these reforms, citizens across the state will now receive more reliable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services. This marks a significant step forward in strengthening health protection for the people.
