Rain-swollen rivers and streams will no longer block rural movement : CM Vishnudev Sai announces development projects worth crores
237 bridges and culverts to be built in Jashpur district at a cost of ₹130 crore
Raipur, December 2025 :To eliminate transportation challenges for villagers during the rainy season in Jashpur district, more than ₹130 crore has been sanctioned on the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for the construction of 237 bridges and culverts. With the construction of high-level bridges over rivers and the rapid development of culverts over streams, the pace of development in the region is set to accelerate. During the monsoon, rain-swollen rivers and streams will no longer hinder villagers’ daily movement.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has approved ₹109.09 crore for the construction of 22 high-level bridges in Jashpur district. These bridges are being built across major routes, rivers, and streams in the district to ensure smooth year-round connectivity. Additionally, ₹20.93 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of 215 small bridges and culverts aimed at connecting villages, hamlets, and settlements.
It is noteworthy that during the monsoon season, several villages in Jashpur district would become completely cut off, creating significant difficulties for farmers, students, patients, and the general public. The construction of bridges and culverts will not only ensure safe transportation but will also boost education, healthcare, trade, and agricultural activities. The reduction in travel time and distance will improve daily life for residents.
Residents and public representatives have expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for this historic development package. They stated that under his leadership, Jashpur district is rising to new heights of progress, and the visible improvements in roads and bridges reflect two years of effective governance.
